Project Evaluation.

I don't think there has been a point throughout this project that I have ever felt confident with the work, the tasks or the looks I was creating, with that in consideration I am really proud of what I have managed to create and the skills that I have mastered throughout project. I feel I have really progressed during this project and learnt lots of valuable techniques, as before I came to uni I had never done anything make-up related.
In a way I feel as though we were thrown in at the deep end with the project and I feel that I times it has been hard and a struggle to keep up. It took me a while to get used to the blogging side of thing as I've never really been big on social media, this was a bit of an alien concept for me. I also felt that because of this, my creativity has been some what limited. I have really struggled to cyber environment a place to convey and develop creative ideas. But in a way I am glad about this, now I have done this, because now I feel prepared to tackle the rest of what the year has to bring with confidence! So bring it on!

Final assessment (as the designer).

I feel my partner did well completing my design, as there were some complicated and time consuming techniques involved she did well to complete the look in time. Overall I am happy with the result although I feel the blusher could have been more symmetrical and the blending a little softer. Also on my face chart, the eyebrows are much more delicate, and I feel, if she had followed the design and my instruction more closely, the out come would have been less clown like and more Elizabethan. I am however happy with the lines under my eye, as in practice sessions this has been a problem area, she has managed to create soft delicate lines which is what I wanted. I also wish there had been more gold on the lips and white on the eye lashes, but this was due to time running out and I am just happy she managed to complete the look. Working with Georgia has been good and I feel we have learnt a lot together.

Final assessment (as the artist)

I feel I managed to pull off my partners design to her satisfaction, I am proud of what I have created, and feel I have followed her design well.
On the day, as it was this first time we had done this look with the eyelashes, I found this a bit of a challenge, as they didn't seem to want to stick and I was running out of time. Wed decided last minuet to add eyeliner into the look to blend the lashed a bit more as they created a blunt edge on the eye and as we hadn't practised this it wasn't something we had taken into consideration, however I only managed to get the eyliner on the bottom lashes, but I think it still work and you can get away with it. Over all I was very happy with the result and feel I managed to cover the eyebrows well have good blending and surprisingly a good lip shape, as this was something I really struggled with throughout practice.

Discussions and Developments (as the artist).

This is my partners Georgia Warwick's final design that I must re-create during the timed assessment.

Here she has sent me some pictures of her design she did on herself to help me understand what she really wants.

This was my first attempt at the look, I feel it went quite well and I believe I managed to replicate the look reasonably closely.
Whilst completing this look I was constantly referring to the face chart (which Georgia had provided and stuck on the mirror) and the photos she above that she had also sent me. I asked her to talk me through each step, step by step, learning the look from the base up. I want to be able to complete the look confidently on the day!

Throughout the process we decided that glue would be the best product for me to use, as I feel more confident with this process and it seems to be more successful for me. For me I felt the hardest part of the look was completing the eyebrows and getting a clean shape on the lips, and I can see that they have a lot of room for improvement on my part!
Feedback from Georgia was that she liked the overall lip shape and was happy with the blending of the eye shadow, however she felt that the contouring needed to be more defined!

When attempting the look a second time, we agreed to try drawing on the eyebrows before the eye shadow and instead of using supra colour black (which is easily overloaded with product and smudged) to a pencil, which could create a more precise sharp line.

We both agreed that this method worked a lot better and I feel much more comfortable using this. Over all I am really happy with the result of this practice and feel it has really come together. There are still lace lashed to be added to the look but we decided not to use them in practice to as to preserve them for the real thing!

Discussions and development (as the designer).

As this was my partners first attempt at my design I think she did a really good job at re-creating my design.
we decided that she would prefer to use glue to cover the eyebrows and that was fine with me as I didn't have a preference for the design and whatever she felt most comfortable with was all I cared about. The only other adaptation we made was taking the blue eye shadow over the eyebrow as in my design it stops just below and the goes into red, we decided to do this as we felt the blue blended over the eyebrow better and created a better effect.

Other than that it was just the lines under the eyes and eyebrows being too bold. Here she has re-attempted the lines under the eyes, we found that having less product on the brush helps and that painting upwards helps, instead of dragging the skin down.

Final design.

This is my final chosen Design.

Here I have gone through the application process to I can clearly instruct my partner on how to complete the look and allow me to address any problems with my look.

The first step to the look is to cover the eyebrows, it is important that the is done correctly, as a bad coverage can effect the entire look.

Here is my finished look.
